ISLAMABAD:
The police on Tuesday arrested a Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) activist from capital’s outskirts and recovered weapons and hate material from his possession, said police sources.
Zahir Akhtar Moavia was arrested from Jhangi Syedan. The police recovered two Kalashnikov rifles, one 30-bore pistol and over dozen of audio cassettes. The police said Moavia is a resident of Jhangi Syedan and was attempting to relocate to another city.
Noon Police Station SHO Younis Gujjar confirmed that the police had arrested and registered an FIR against Moavia under the Antiterrorism Act and for fraud. The police will produce him in court on Wednesday (today).
