KCCA chief withdraws resignation on PCB's request

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan persuades Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi to not quit

KARACHI: President of Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi has withdrawn his resignation as the head of the association on the request of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan.     

Faruqi, who is also the member PCB governing board, tendered his resignation after PCB refused to give direct entry to two Karachi teams in the National Twenty20 Cup.

"I cannot refuse request of legendary person like Shahryar Khan, who is also our elder," he told APP on Wednesday.

However, Faruqi said, he will keep protecting the rights of players of Karachi, the biggest metropolis of the country, and continue promoting cricket and working for the enrichment of the game in the region.

"By resigning I tried to save an institution," said Faruqi.
