Hunt for uba rebels: FC troops seize arms cache

Four militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban were arrested and their hideouts were destroyed

QUETTA: The Frontier Corps (FC) recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Sibi district, a spokesman for the paramilitary force said on Sunday. FC soldiers carried out a search operation for United Baloch Army (UBA) activists in the Haft Wali area. During the combing exercise, the paramilitary troops discovered an arms dump, allegedly belonging to UBA, the spokesman said. The weapons include a 75mm mortar with 17 bombs, three 107mm mortars with 17 bombs, a long range 14.5mm gun with 21 bullets, an RPG7 rocket launcher with two rockets, eight sub-machine guns, eight 303 rifles, ammunition and a telephone exchange. Meanwhile, four militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban were arrested and their hideouts were destroyed in a search operation in Kakal area of Zhob district in a joint operation of FC and intelligence agencies on Sunday.
