KARACHI: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has asked for expressions of interest to supply one million tons of low-viscosity fuel oil for one year, its website showed on Friday.

Interested parties have to submit particulars, including financial details and business information for five years, by January 10.

Details of the requirement such as delivery dates and cargo specifications were not disclosed.

PSO imports about seven million tons of high-sulphur and low-sulphur fuel oil annually, mostly for power generation, its website said.

It last bought 10 cargoes of 65,000 tons each, for January-February delivery, of low 125-centistoke (cst) viscosity from Middle East traders Bakri and Fal Oil at premiums of $26-$29 a ton to Middle East spot quotes on a cost-and-freight (C&F) basis.
