At long last: Over 5,000 teachers to be regularised

Union leaders have said that the regularisation will help in ending the uncertainty surrounding job security

RAWALPINDI: Thousand of teachers in all seven tehsils of Rawalpindi District are set to be regularised on orders from the Punjab government. The issued orders call for 5,200 male and female teachers of SSE, SESE and PST, in the Rawalpindi district to be regularised. According to an official, as many as 1,000 SSE (grade-16) teachers appointed in 2011, as well as 121 contractually appointed educators in 2010, have also been regularised. Union leaders have said that the regularisation will help in ending the uncertainty surrounding job security among teachers.
