CDA’s operation (II)

Will CDA take any action against establishments, given that their owners carry a lot of political and social clout?

ISLAMABAD: With reference to the CDA’s drive against illegal settlements in sector I-11, one wonders what the body is doing about other encroachments and illegal settlements. There have been reports of mosques and seminaries being built on encroached land in various parts of Islamabad. In addition, there are various businesses, offices, schools and restaurants that are also operating on land that is not theirs.

The question is, will the CDA take any action against these establishments, given that their owners carry a lot of political and social clout? The obvious answer seems to be ‘no’, as the laws of the land are applied only on the poor and downtrodden.
