Devastation caused by floods (II)

Letter August 01, 2015
I urge the government to build more dams so that lives of the people can be safeguarded

TURBAT: It is sad that floods have, once again, devastated parts of Pakistan. Entire villages and homes have been destroyed with many dead or injured. Since 2010, the country has been experiencing floods, which have destroyed countless lives, homes and families. However, no concrete measures have seemingly been taken to prevent damage from floods during the monsoon season.

Today, our country direly needs dams to save the lives of people. Dams can also facilitate agriculture and have other benefits, such as electricity generation. I urge the government to build more dams so that lives of the people can be safeguarded.
