Two gunned down in Quetta firing

Frontier Corps and police rushed to the spot and have cordoned off the area

QUETTA: Two people were gunned down in Quetta's Ferozabad area on Tuesday as unidentified assailants opened fire.

Unidentified men opened fire from a motorcycle at the victims, who were travelling in a taxi, on Sabzal Road in Ferozabad area. Following the incident, Frontier Corps and police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

The bodies, identified as Raz Mohammad and Mohammad Tahir, were shifted to Civil Hospital.

Three 9 millimeter bullet rounds were recovered from the site.

On June 7, five people were gunned down in Quetta’s Circular Road area near Meezan Chowk Sunday evening. Unidentified armed men on two motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on the victims outside tea shops. Four of them died on the spot, while one person was shifted to CMH Quetta, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In an earlier version of this article, the two people gunned down were referred to as Hazaras. The correction has been made and the error is regretted.
