Nathiagali road project

The construction work is creating problems for local businesses and tourists

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government is giving priority to tourism and has begun widening roads in Nathiagali. While it is good to have wide roads to enhance traffic safety, the construction work is creating problems for local businesses and tourists already present in the area due to traffic build-up and noise pollution from machines involved in the construction process.

This construction could have been completed in sections — and perhaps in the autumn season when the tourist season is over — which would have created less inconvenience. It is hoped that the work will be expedited and finished as soon as possible because if delayed, it will spoil the tourism business this year, and in fact, for some years to come.
