The Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, asked the following question to a nationally representative sample of men and women:
In your opinion what commodity should one save in order to survive during hard times?

Almost one third of all Pakistanis (31 per cent) said they believe it is better to save money for unforeseen hardships followed by saving food items (25 per cent).

Nineteen per cent and 18 per cent of the respondents believed that one should invest in land and gold respectively.

The report released by the Gallup foundation said that the data shows that relatively more rural residents (29 per cent) prefer saving food for a rainy day as compared to their urban counter parts (18 per cent).
