Four policemen were arrested for negligence of their duties in the passport office where three people were gunned down on Wednesday.

Three people, a police constable and two men of the Hazara community, were killed in a firing incident outside the Quetta Passport Office on Monday.

According to the SSP Operations Quetta Abdul Wahid Khattak, the four policemen were suspended and have been arrested. “The four policemen showed negligence on duty on Monday in the act of targeted killing,” SSP Operations Quetta said.

The policemen taken into custody have been identified as Nour ul Haq, Abdul Sattar who belong to the Balochistan Constabulary, and police constables Abdul Razzaq and Mujeebullah.

“The police department suggested the four policemen be terminated from service. The four policemen did not respond to the attackers despite being present on the spot,” SSP Khattak said. He added that the four policemen entered the passport office and locked the main gate during the firing.
