Pm's scheme: 1,000 laptops distributed among SU students

As many as 1,000 laptops were distributed among the students of Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes of the Sindh University (SU) under the Prime Minister's Laptops Scheme at a ceremony on Wednesday.


The ceremony was held at the varsity's Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Higher Education Commission (HEC) representative Naeem Ahmed, teachers and a large number of students were present on the occasion.


The director of SU IBA and focal person for PM's Laptop Scheme at the university, Dr Imamuddin Khoso, inaugurated the ceremony by giving away 10 laptops to students. A total 1,000 laptops were then distributed among the deserving students. He further announced that another 427 laptops will be distributed among students today [Thursday]. He said that over 100,000 laptops had been purchased by the HEC and a total 7,035 laptops had been given to the students of SU alone.

Fawad Khan | 8 years ago | Reply Most of these laptops are low priced and have an inferior quality. My friend got one which ran out of order within the first week. I checked the [laptop price][1] on the internet and it was under 25,000. I'm glad I refused when I was being offered one.
