ISLAMABAD: After the landslide victory in the recent Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) elections, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is now eyeing the upcoming polls in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Prime Minister's Adviser on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani called on Premier Nawaz Sharif on Friday and informed him about the party position for the upcoming elections in AJK.

After emerging as the single largest party in the G-B polls, he also discussed about the formation of the government in the mountainous region. Hafeez-ur-Rehman and Mir Ghazanfar Ali are the two contenders for the slot of next chief minister G-B.

About AJK, the party has started its preparations to win the upcoming polls in AJK.

Dr Kirmani earlier served as PM Nawaz’s personal assistant for years.

Moreover, the PML-N overseas chapter office-bearers also met Premier Nawaz. According to PM House, Qaiser Sheikh and Malik Noor Muhammad during their meeting with the prime minister discussed the party affairs.
