Park security

Letter June 18, 2015
Due to lack of watchful, robust security around the park, mischief-mongers harass girls, subjecting them to harassment

LAHORE: As a regular visitor to the magnificent Quaid-e-Azam Library, located in the vicinity of the lush green Lawrence Garden in Lahore, I frequently see families visiting, entertaining themselves, students doing group study under the shade of the trees and workers napping on the grassy greens. Such sights are worth noticing and it feels good to see such an enthusiastic band of people making use of parks and the natural beauty they have to offer. However, this pleasant site has been destroyed by mischief-mongers, who come to the park with intentions to harass families, particularly female students.

Due to the lack of watchful and robust security around the park, these mischief-mongers harass girls, subjecting them to sexual harassment. Therefore, the relevant parks and horticulture authority is requested to arrange and maintain proper security in the vicinity of the park so that families and, most importantly, female students do not face unpleasant incidents.
