PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said on Wednesday that it had arrested two men in Sarband and recovered from their possession two magnet bombs along with detonators, primer cord and pistols.

CTD said it had received an intelligence report that terrorists will be attempting to transfer explosive devices from Khyber Agency to Peshawar. Officials then established a check post on Sheikh Mero Baba Road in Sarband on the outskirts of the city to intercept the suspects.

Two people, riding on a motorcycle, tried to flee when they saw the police check post. But officials managed to overpower them.

One of the men was identified as Bilal, a resident of Masho Khel. The other was identified as Ghulam Habib, a resident of Sheikhabad, Peshawar.
