KARACHI: Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq on Tuesday said that the news of his SUV being confiscated were not true, reported Express News.

“The people from the Excise and Taxation department checked the tokens and papers allowed me to go,” said Misbah.

“I am taken aback by the news of my car being confiscated. Media should confirm the news before publishing it.”

Earlier, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that Pakistan’s Test captain Misbahul Haq’s SUV was confiscated by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) due to the non-payment of taxes and duty.

Misbah was also confronted by FBR last year in October when his bank account was frozen due to non-payment of taxes amounting to 3.9 million rupees.

Pakistan’s most successful captain then met with Federal minister for finance, Ishaq Dar in Islamabad to resolve the problem.

PTI Sources said that the FBR seized Misbah's land cruiser after serving a prompt notice that he had to clear all duties and taxes with penalty to reclaim it back.

Misbah is currently preparing to lead Pakistan team in Sri Lanka in a three-match Test series which starts from July 17.
