ISLAMABAD: A day after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restored Chaudhry Rashid Ahmed back at the helm of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra), the government on Tuesday filed an application requesting the court to suspend its decision. Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi of the IHC issued a notice to the head of the government’s media watchdog, asking him to make a court appearance on Wednesday (today) after Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Afnan Karim Kundi filed an application challenging the court’s earlier decision.  Justice Qureshi heard the case in his chamber following a strike call by the legal fraternity in the wake of the slaying of two of their colleagues Sialkot’s Daska city. The deaths occurred during a clash between lawyers and police officials.
