Pakistan on Tuesday hanged 11 prisoners, bringing the total number put to death since executions resumed last December to 128, officials said.


Ten executions took place in several cities in the central province of Punjab while one convict was hanged at Mach jail in Balochistan province.  All had been convicted of murder.



According to details, two convicts Muhammad Shakil and Sher Ali were executed in Central Jail (Kot Lakhpat) Lahore. Ishaq was executed in Sahiwal District Court for killing Nazar Muhammad in 1994. Mohammad Nawaz was executed in Gujranwala Central Jail and Faryad Ali was hanged in Multan Central Jail for killing his cousin in 1998. Amjad Ali was hanged in Sargodha District Jail and convict Noor Ahmed was hanged in Toba Tek Singh for murdering six people from his family including his father. Muhammad Afzal sentence was executed in District Jail Jehlum for a murder in 2003. Two convicts were hanged in Faisalabad. Muhammad Ibrahim Jogezai’s sentence was executed in Central Jail at Mach at the gallows early Tuesday.

Meanwhile, convicted prisoner Qari Shamasul Islam, who has been charged for murder, is scheduled to be hanged on Wednesday morning in Peshawar.
