The activities of seminaries in Khairpur should be closely monitored
ISLAMABAD: The progress of the Khairpur’s police chief has drawn people’s attention towards his bold initiatives. I appreciate his services for the restoration of peace in Khairpur district and his strategy to keep criminal elements at bay. At the same time, I request the SSP and the ASP of Khairpur and their worthy team to take action against the rapidly increasing number of illegal and unregistered seminaries across the district in light of the National Action Plan.
There are certain seminaries that are alleged to be a major hub for introducing religious extremism and hatred among the masses. The wearer knows where the shoe pinches; Khairpur is my native city and its suburbs are badly crippled with this disease nowadays, hindering progress in the area, and affecting healthy mental development of teenagers and school-going children. The activities of seminaries in Khairpur should be closely monitored.
