Awaran awaits relief

Letter May 05, 2015
Despite all promises of making Awaran a model city, the people still don’t have medical care, food and potable water

TURBAT: The 7.7 magnitude deadly earthquake that hit Awaran in 2013 wreaked havoc. The prime minister at the time had announced that his government would rebuild the quake-ravaged area and turn it into a ‘model town’. Sadly, nothing of the sort has happened. The people of Awaran are compelled to pass their lives without proper houses even after a year and a half since the earthquake.

Despite all promises of making Awaran a model city, the people still don’t have medical care, food and potable water. The authorities must fulfil their promises and provide relief to the impoverished people of Awaran.
