Education: long road head

Letter April 25, 2015
Our government must understand the importance of education and invest the most towards this sector

KARACHI: This refers to the news report “Education for all: For Pakistan, still a long road ahead” (April 23) in The Express Tribune. The Education For All global monitoring report has revealed that the government has failed to increase the expenditure budget on education as per its promise.

This accounts for the fact that Pakistan is still one of those countries, which are far from their educational goals.

Our government must understand the importance of education and invest the most towards this sector as only an educated population can improve the condition of this country. The authorities concerned should open more schools throughout the country and ensure that quality education is provided to all. Also, there should be a check and balance system that ensures that there are no ‘ghost’ schools or teachers in any of the provinces.
