BANNU:

A teacher at a girls primary school in Lakki Marwat has accused the Bannu Saddar SHO of demanding a hefty bribe after illegally impounding her car.

During a news conference at Bannu Press Club on Tuesday, Qadar Shan Bibi, who is also a resident of Kot Baile in Bannu, said SHO Iftikhar Ali Shah took her car from her driver. She said she filed an application in a local court which subsequently ordered the SHO to return the vehicle but he did not obey and instead demanded a bribe of Rs20,000.

Instead, she said, the police handed her car to the former nazim of Kalakhel Masti Khan union council, Nasib Nawaz. Some people working for Nawaz told her that her husband Muhammad Akhter had taken a loan from a man identified as Riaz Khan and that her car was probably taken as collateral.

She added they threated to kidnap her three children if she does not get the money to pay back Riaz.
