PESHAWAR: A key commander of the banned organisation Lashkar-e-Islam was arrested at Ring Road near Pishtakhara Sunday morning. Daud is a resident of Sipah Bara, Khyber Agency. He comes from the same sub-clan of Sipah which Mangal Bagh belongs to. Daud’s father, Bacha, was previously arrested near the FC Pump in Saddar area. “Both father and son were involved in a number of attacks on police posts in the district,” said a police official, requesting anonymity. The counter-terrorism department has been engaged in large-scale crackdowns against militants and their supporters across the province and have managed to arrest many suspects.
