The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan has decided to take 16 secondary school counsellors from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi on a two-week tour of US colleges and universities.

The programme aims to give counsellors first-hand understanding of higher education in the US and help them advise students better about college admissions.

During the tour, counsellors will visit 13 colleges and institutions.

USEFP Executive Director Rita Akhtar, speaking about the tour, said “We hope this first-ever counsellors’ tour will become an annual event”.

The tour will include panel discussions and regional workshops and networking opportunities. The counsellors will also participate in the Illinois School Counsellor Association Annual Conference.

At the conference, participants will meet their US counterparts to gain first-hand experience with US higher education admissions processes.
