Ties with Turkey: Envoy calls for enhanced cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Sohail Mahmood has called for further enhancement of cooperation with Turkey in the areas of agriculture and livestock in order to tap the existing potential. In a meeting with Turkish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mehmet Mehdi Eker in Ankara, he noted the progress being made on the on-going joint projects of Pakistan and Turkey in the agriculture sector and highlighted the prospects for enhanced, mutually-beneficial collaboration in diverse fields. “There are possibilities of more cooperation in the areas of seed development, livestock, agro-based industries and food processing,” he said, while underlining the importance of regular exchange of experts and academics in related fields to intensify cooperation in the agreed areas. The Turkish minister welcomed the ambassador on his new assignment in Turkey and reaffirmed his support for the efforts aimed at deepening collaboration in the agriculture and livestock sectors.
