Increasing attacks on religious sites

Letter March 19, 2015
The government must act aggressively and put an end to all the terrorists who are attacking different religious sites

TURBAT: After many attacks on educational institutions, imambargahs and mosques, it seems that now the terrorists have turned towards attacking churches. The twin blasts in Lahore on March 15, which killed more than a dozen people was the worst example of inhumanity. As a student, I haven’t yet understood what the aim of these terrorists is? By attacking religious sites and educational institutions in different areas of Pakistan, what are they trying to convey? That their interpretation of faith is superior? Islam gives a lesson of brotherhood and kindness. The peaceful tenets of faith are obviously lost on the terrorists.

Here, the role of government is to provide security to all places of worship across the country. The government must act aggressively and put an end to all the terrorists who are attacking different religious sites and perpetrating shameful, violent acts.
