Landmine casualty: FC constable laid to rest

On March 7, he was on duty near a gas pipeline when he stepped on a landmine which exploded

NOWSHERA: A Frontier Corps (FC) soldier who was killed in a landmine explosion in Dera Bugti, Balochistan was laid to rest in his native village in Nowshera on Friday. Constable Ayaz Khattak, a resident of Garo Village, Nizampur had joined FC in 2010 and was deputed in Dera Bugti. On March 7, he was on duty near a gas pipeline when he stepped on a landmine which exploded, leaving him severely injured. Security officials present nearby rushed him to Pano Aqil Combined Military Hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. FC men later transported his body to his native village where he was buried after his final rites. A huge number of FC personnel, officials and locals were present at his funeral. According to a local, Khattak’s brother Iqbal Khattak is also serving in the FC in Balochistan.
