KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi President Ali Zaidi questioned the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the aftermath of a Rangers raid on MQM headquarters Nine Zero.

While condemning the killing of MQM worker Waqas Ali Shah, Zaidi upheld the allegations levied against the MQM by the Rangers today and endorsed former Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza’s statements.

“When Zulfiqar Mirza was interior minister for Sindh, he had raised the same allegations that are made by the Rangers today.”

“During his tenure, Mirza had openly accused the MQM workers of their involvement in the killing of Geo news reporter Wali Khan Babar,” Zaidi added.

He asserted Rangers arrested the alleged target killer of Wali Khan Babar, Faisal Mota from Nine Zero during the raid today.

Questioning why Aamir Khan was protecting alleged criminals and how weapons which were stolen from NATO containers reached MQM headquarters, the PTI Karachi president asked if the MQM has a partnership with NATO.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Zaidi also criticised MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s statements.

“Altaf Hussain has claimed that Rangers brought all the weapons with them, I want to ask him if the Rangers also brought Faisal Mota with them.”

Further, he said Altaf Hussain himself confessed that MQM is a terrorist organisation.

“What was he trying to say when he said that people who have committed mistakes should have gone to live anywhere in the world, why did they came to Nine Zero?”

Commenting on Altaf’s statement that Zahra Shahid’s daughter has blamed PTI chairman Imran Khan for her death, Ali Zaidi told The Express Tribune that it was on the will of Zahra Shahid’s family that a political FIR was not lodged.

“Her daughter personally asked me to not lodge a political FIR,” he said.

“It was through the media that we came to know that her murderer belonged to a political party and we know from which sector and unit office they were given the orders to kill her.”

Zaidi demanded all the criminals caught in Karachi should be tried in military courts irrespective of their political affiliation. He also questioned the involvement of MQM workers in criminal activity by saying,“Saulat Mirza, Ajmal Pahari and now Faisal Mehmood all belong to MQM.”
