LARKANA: Employees of the Larkana Development Authority (LDA) staged a rally for the second consecutive day on Thursday through the main roads of the city, demanding the payment of their salaries which have been due since the last 13 months. The protesters, led by Hafeez Chandio, Mehboob Bhutto and Hamid Murtaza Kalhoro, said that around 272 LDA employees from BPS-1 to BPS-16 have not been paid their salaries. They said that two of the employees, identified as Kamran Veesar, who was working as a senior clerk, and Zuhaib Abro who was appointed as a junior clerk, had died due to lack of funds to pay for their medical expenses. A third colleague, Nadim Qureshi, is suffering from a deadly disease but is unable to get treatment for the same reasons, they claimed. The protesters said that the strikes will continue until their demands are accepted and their salaries disbursed.
