Crossing a busy road

Letter March 05, 2015
Although two humps have been installed by the municipal authorities to slow down traffic, they are not that effective

ISLAMABAD: The other day I was driving near the Combined Military Hospital in Rawalpindi and saw pedestrians on one side of the road desperately trying to cross the busy road during rush hour traffic. Although two humps have been installed by the municipal authorities to slow down traffic and allow people to cross the road, they are not all that effective. This may also have to do with the fact that most people who visit the hospital are patients and are not physically fit to cross the road quickly, which is what most of the pedestrians have to do.

I request the authorities concerned to construct an overhead bridge on this road so that pedestrians may cross over with ease.
