Sehat ka ittehad: Campaign to enter second phase

The second round of ‘Sehat ka Ittehad’ campaign is expected to inoculate children against nine different diseases across the province. This phase will continue till March 4.


The large-scale drive is a joint initiative of the provincial and federal govenrnmets and is being conducted simultaneously in 21 different parts of K-P, North and South Waziristan Agencies along with Frontier Regions Bannu and Peshawar.


While talking to The Express Tribune, a health department official said full-scale drives will be conducted in Bannu, DI Khan, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Nowshera, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Kohat, Karak and Tank districts.


“The Short Interval Additional Doses (SIAD) will be administered by 7,221 mobile, 761 fixed and 277 transit polio teams. 2.77m children are expected to be vaccinated. Also, 1,620 area in charges will monitor the campaign,” the official said.
