Libraries needed

There are few public libraries in Hyderabad even though the city is an important part of Sindh

HYDERABAD: Libraries are very important for the progress and development of any society. They ensure accessibility to a vast ocean of knowledge to the common man. There are people in every society who have a craving to read but do not have the resources to satisfy their urge. Libraries are a blessing for such people. The concept of free libraries goes back to the craving for knowledge by such people.

There are few public libraries in Hyderabad even though the city is an important part of Sindh with a lot of people from rural Sindh having migrated to this serene city. There are only two public libraries here: Maulana Hasrat Mohani Library near Pukka Qila and Allama Daudpota Library near Sindh Museum in Qasimabad. Hyderabad has a rich cultural heritage; it has religious and ethnic diversity. In such a city it is imperative that there are more public libraries so that students and other people can have easy access to a wide variety of books. It is requested to the authorities concerned to establish more libraries in the city.
