Health campaign: Eateries fined

Imposed fines of Rs32,000 on violators.

The Islamabad administration has imposed fines on a number of restaurants and eateries in Tarnol for violations of hygiene regulations.


District Food Controller Raja Ashraf conducted surprise inspections, said a press release issued by the ICT Administration on Thursday.


Ashraf found most restaurants failing to meet required hygiene and quality standards and imposed fines of Rs32,000 on violators.


Eateries that were fined included Khan Hotel, Abbasi Hotel, Babar Hotel, Gulzareen Milk and Samosa Centre and Malik Aziz Milk Centre. A number of vegetable and fruit vendors were also fined for overcharging.
