BEIJING: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Friday that while China wants to continue working  on expanding connections and assistance with Pakistan at all levels and in various areas, it hoped its long standing partner would adopt effective measures to protect its workers and projects in the country, Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.

In a meeting with National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Zhongnanhai, the headquarters of the Chinese government, Li stressed that China always ascribes significance to growing relations with Pakistan and firmly supports the country's effort to safeguard independence and sovereignity.

Li said that the development of the China-Pakistan economic corridor had provided a tactical background for the two countries to carry out practical collaboration. He expressed the wish that the two sides would further develop useful cooperation and mutually advance development of the economic corridor.

The Chinese premier said they are ready to work with Pakistan to maintain peace within the region and promote prosperity and development.

According to Sadiq, the friendly relationship between Pakistan and China has raised a model for international relations. The two countries will jointly celebrate the year of friendly exchanges.

Very recently china has banned wearing burkha. It has also banned young people from entering mosque before they reach a certain age. Authorities there lock down mosques unilaterally as and when they decide for that barring uyghur muslims from offering their namaz and assemble for religious exchanges. This is mainly implemented in East Turkestan ( Xinjiang ). Pakistan is silent like a stone in the arctic cold. Does Pakistan really care about atrocities over muslims who are asking for independence ? Pakistan must take a principled stand over right to self-determination. If it becomes only Kashmir-specific then it would look like a ploy to grab land and resources. This then makes Pakistan a opportunist greedy state that merely invokes Islam to satisfy its greed.
