A statement issued by the Secretary-General’s spokesperson stated that he was “appalled by such vicious targeting of people on account of their religious affiliation”.
“The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the families of the victims and his sympathies to the Government and people of Pakistan,” the statement added.
A powerful explosion in the Karbala-e-Moalla Imambargah in the Lakhidar area of Shikarpur on January 30 killed over 60 worshippers and wounded many more. More than 300 worshippers were inside the double-storey compound of the Imambargah when the bomb went off.

@Pakistani: Of course before war on terror Pakistan was doing pretty good. It was the most advanced civilization with economy and infrastructure to envy with and full with educated people holding high tech jobs. News flash for you, Taliban may be American idea, but it was your own people who enrolled into it happily in the name of Jihad. And it's easy to enroll Pakistanis into terrorists activities in name of religion. And then keep blaming others for the mess you create.
Every one from Pakistan who commented that Ban Ki Moon and Obama were in India to warn them because Pakistan give them evidence of India's involvement in terrorism in Pakistan. This news should be an eye opener or simply a rude shock. Nevertheless this is true global opinion about Pakistan.

Very inconvenient if some one points out Pakistan's constitution discriminates people based on their faith! He should re-double his efforts to implement long awaited implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir not for the sake of Pakistan but for the sake of sanctity of UN he is heading.
This guy has the easiest job in the world. "being concerned". Last year he got concerned "167" times. That makes 1/2 concern per day. And he gets paid 35 grand a month to do this.
Pakistan is doing irreversible harm to its image. Its analysts are fools and inept. It needs to move on the Haqqani and the Quetta Shura. Afghanistan has moved against TTP.

@ Pakistani. I suppose you can blame UN, USA, India or whomever - but in the final analysis these religious extremist are slaughtering your own people - so maybe you should do more? Now UN has also started playing 'Do More' diplomacy with Pakistan just after Obama's visit to India. Probably this is pressure tactic by UN to allow India a permanent seat in security council.
