Ban on petrol cans

Letter January 28, 2015
I request Ogra to rescind the ban on petrol cans and instead, regulate the sale of petrol through other means

RAWALPINDI: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has imposed a ban on the supply of petrol in bottles or cans at service stations. This might help in controlling the illegal sale of petrol, but brings bad news to those who are stranded in traffic jams and need petrol to reach their destinations. It is also disadvantageous for those whose cars run out of petrol on long, barren roads and far-off highways.

I request Ogra to rescind the ban on petrol cans and instead, regulate the sale of petrol through other means so that people may be able to utilise petroleum services in a way that truly helps them. Using services in a way that suits Ogra is not the point here.
