A woman committed suicide on Tuesday after she was forced into a marriage by her parents.
According to police, Shazia*, 18, was depressed after her marriage with Mushtaq Ahmad of Zahirpir. “She drank a large amount of poisonous chemical on Tuesday. She was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan where doctors tried to revive her, but failed,” police said.
Separately, two women and a man were hospitalised after attempting suicide.
