LARKANA: There is no quick response force of the police or Rangers available to act promptly in case of an emergency at the Chandka Medical College (CMC), said Larkana commissioner Dr Saeed Mangnejo in a letter to the principal of the college. He added that no security personnel have been deployed at any roof of the CMC buildings to monitor the surrounding areas. He further pointed out that security officers guarding the premises did not have weapons. “There is no checking of employees at the employee colony gate,” he said in the letter. “Moreover, the boundary wall is broken from the back side.” According to Mangnejo, there are no closed-circuit television cameras installed at the CMC. He directed the CMC authorities that security of foreign students should be given top priority and intensive foot patrolling be carried out inside the premises of the college.
