According to a statement released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), air strikes targeted militant hideouts it Datta Khel area of North Waziristan. The first round of strikes killed 53 militants while a second round of strikes killed an additional 23 militants.
The strikes destroyed six militant hideouts and an ammunition dump.
Seven explosives laden vehicles were also destroyed in the strikes.
The strikes came as Army chief General Raheel Sharif visited Mohmand Agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas on Tuesday.
“We will never abandon these areas without fully restoring them to functional normalcy,” General Raheel said.
Tuesday's air strikes followed similar strikes on Sunday when at least 35 suspected terrorists were killed in fresh air strikes in North Waziristan Agency near the border with Afghanistan on Sunday as an eight-member Afghan delegation, led by the country’s border police chief, arrived in the federal capital on a five-day trip.
Fighter jets strafed hideouts of militants in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, the military’s media wing, the ISPR, said in a statement. Thirty-five terrorists were killed in the air blitz, it added. “Foreigners were among the dead.”
Referring to the recently launched operations by Afghan National Army in areas close to Mohmand and Bajaur, the army chief expressed hope such measures would help check cross border terrorism incidents and enhance border coordination.

@Emjay: In the same way from which USA Found bin laden in Abottabad and after that thrown him in Ocean.
@ Azi and @ Jealous Trolls: I agree with you about Pakistan Bashing Indian friends, but I guess @Sanjay's comment was not so much of anti-Pakistan. I could have been a well meaning advice, so please give him benefit of doubt. And only respond to those who come on our sites to bash us !!!
@ Azi: Dude," You're da man". Like both your point of view as well as expression. Keep it up.
Sheeda Agni Emjay Sanjay are Indian Trolls uttering non sense by seeing JF-17 Thunder performing a maneuver in the picture. Some thing their Teja or what ever that junk is called is not capable of.. This is their hallmark ... can hide their identity, cant hide their jealousy...
I suppose the 76 terrorists were just sitting in a group waiting for the bombs to rain down on them.
Let the journalist go there & report what you got in the air raids. Any leader among them. Social media will report it anyway.
Thank you! Keep it up please.
Where do they get such exact numbers from? Especially when they dont really have much ground intelligence in these regions. We shouldnt accept everything the army tells us blindly.
@Sanjay:
There is no collateral damage, most areas are evacuated and army acts on confirmed intelligence reports.
I would ask you to please be careful in distinguishing between planets and drones and not targeting jupiter and venus, humans would someday like to see those planets still part of our solar system. Please consult NASA if you cant figure out planets in less than 6 months which was the length of Indian Army's last investigation into the matter.
Collateral damage from these actions will take years to heal and contain. Pl. be careful.
Very good news. Please keep on killing them till each and every one of them is dead. Then start with the hate preachers etc.
