“Pakistan is supporting a proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir despite suffering casualties within their country,” General Dalbir Singh was cited by Indian media outlets as telling a news conference.
“One will have to ‘wait and watch’ if Pakistan Army has had a change of heart since the gruesome attack on an army school in Peshawar last month that drew condemnation in India,” he told a rapt audience of Indian journalists.
“Threats and challenges have been growing, both in intensity as well as commitment, because of active borders that we have,” Singh said.
“The recent strikes by the terrorists not only reflect their desperation but are also a grim reminder that the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan is intact,” he added.

Yes I am Indian. I have seen Kashmir 6 times. It is really heaven on earth and heard that Kashmir on Pakistan side is more beautiful. We are fighting for Kashmir from many years. But what we want from Kashmir. It looks that fight is for a peace of land not for Kashmir people. Why don't we start a war in different manner, we start developing Kashmir of both side by respective governments. And put all the money on Kashmir's development that we are wasting on fighting. And let say after 8 or 10 years we loosen up the borders and allow free movements of people. But we are not ready to learn anything from past. Its Divide and Rule policy that Britishers taught us still in our leaders mind. One day might come when India and Pakistan will become mature!
@Alina:
Clutch to your straws but it's a fact that China banned burqas.
@Dipak: Try as you may, this pathetic attempt by you Indians to drive a wedge between us and China simply won't work. Go sell you Indian fear and insecurity somewhere else, and next time spam Pakistani forums with nonsense that is in any way relevant to the issue at hand.
China just reminded Muslim women they can not wear Burqa and cause terrorism. Read today's Dawn. That's what your all weather friends think of you and your Islam terrorism. God bless China.
@Rahim Suleiman: Don't you think that the Indian Army should stop interfering in Pakistan through Afghanistan? Why are you asking Pakistan to introspect? Why doesn't India, being a neighboring country, stop interference in Balochistan? It is very easy to point fingers but very difficult to go out there and mend the situation.
@Pity: Bro, just introspecting on one's wrong doing doesn't make him the enemy. I am a proud Pakistani who wants to eliminate the terror tag which has become synonymous with Pakistan. Let's just not call me an Indian because I am calling a spade a spade.
@Rahim Suleiman: Thanks bro for making us understand that you are an Indian.
Hafiz Saeed will never see the military courts being set up.
Pakistan's fight is only against a small subset of Terrorists, not all Jihadis. Which basically means Pakistan will fail in its fight against Terror.
If the allegations are correct then we need to introspect. If we want to come out of this terror groups we shouldn't discriminate and eliminate all terror infra within our country. Let's hope army realizes this and goes for it.
Indian army chief renews accusations Everybody needs to keep its business running. May be after his retirement being free from his professional compulsions, he might consider revealing the truth through autobiography just like past Indian army chiefs.
The Indian Army and the Indian leadership issues such statements when they see Pakistan-Afghanistan relations improving.
I guess Mr Dalbir Singh should tell Indian NSA to stop interfering in to Pakistan.
“Pakistan is supporting a proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir despite suffering casualties within their country"
We knew all along who is behind those causing casualties in Pakistan, though our government wouldn't cry like babies as India does. Now he admits this fact indirectly. Even his face looks more like a malevolent vindictive villain of a Bollywood movie than of an army General.
Nothing new.. epicenter of terrorism!
Pakistan cannot give up the Kashmir cause at any cost. It has become the underpinning of the nation. This has become like the cold war between USSR and USA. One of them has to collapse financially for this war to end.
Look at your conduct before pointing fingers at others. In the mean time, go fly a kite.
Lame excuses India want to take an active part in new cold war in South China Sea. Everyone now warming up for that cold war, Pakistan’s strategy should be to sit and watch artificial elephant to die either from hunger or from loneliness because without healthy relations with Pakistan, India will remain biggest poverty of the world. Japan approves biggest-ever defense budget with eye on China Times of India Jan 14, 2015 TOKYO: Japan's Cabinet approved the country's largest ever defense budget on Wednesday, including plans to buy surveillance aircraft, drones and F-35 fighter jets to help counter China's rising assertiveness in the region.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's Cabinet endorsed a nearly 5 trillion yen ($42 billion) defense budget for the year beginning in April as part of a record 96.3 trillion yen ($814 billion) total budget. The increase mainly covers new equipment, including P-1 surveillance aircraft, F-35 fighter jets and amphibious vehicles for a new unit similar to the US Marine Corps. The aim is to boost Japan's capacity to defend uninhabited islands in the East China Sea that it controls but which is also claimed by China. As Japan's population quickly ages, welfare costs are soaring. Social security spending will account for about a third of the budget. The economy is in recession but the government has forecast growth at 1.5 percent this year, after an estimated 0.5 percent contraction in 2014.
