New year’s eve: Police finalise security plan

Rawalpindi police have finalised security arrangements for the new year evening. The police have prohibited carrying weapons on new year’s eve.


Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Farhan Aslam has said that police will take action against those involved in one-wheeling, while playing loud music has also been prohibited in vehicles.


He said that under elaborate security arrangements, over 2,000 police personnel will be deployed at important public places and markets. Female police constables, special branch officials and the elite force will also perform security duties on new year eve.
