RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Arts Council organised a stage play “Hum aik Hain” to mark the 138th birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Thursday. The drama was written and directed by Aslam Mughal and the cast included Saeed Anwar, Naeem Bubba, Naeem Tota, Reha Yousaf, Babar Abbas, Mehwish, Aslam Mughal, Noor, Imran, Khalil Noor and Sunny. The play narrated the story of Pakistan’s creation, starting from pre-partition years and ending at the current situation. It showed how the pre-partition events led to the demand for a separate country for Muslims in the Subcontinent, which grew into a movement led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The play showed the mass migration after Pakistan, through the 1965 war with India, to the present challenge of extremism and terrorism in the country.
