Security threat: 3 Afghans arrested under Foreigners Act

Separately, police arrested 10 suspects from Chak 478-GB members of a banned outfit.

Jhang Bazaar police registered cases against three Afghans residing in Douglaspura under the Foreigners Act on Thursday after taking them into custody.


Jhang Bazaar SHO Zafar Iqbal told The Express Tribune Jannat Gul, Karamat Ali and Ameenullah were taken into custody during a search operation.

“They could not present any valid documents proving their identity or purpose of stay in the area,” he said.

“These Afghans have been taken in for questioning,” the SHO said.

Separately, police arrested 10 suspects from Chak 478-GB members of a banned outfit.

“We arrested the suspects from the house of Hafiz Muhammad Kashif in Chak 478-GB. They have close links with terrorists,” a police spokesman said.

“Some of the suspects were wearing uniforms of law enforcement agencies,” the spokesman said. He said search operations in the city had been increased.
