Lessons from the Peshawar tragedy

Letter December 22, 2014
Utter failure of our diplomatic arm to persuade and desist regional powers from providing safe havens

RAWALPINDI: This is a response to Najmuddin Shaikh’s article, “Lessons from the Peshawar tragedy” published on December 22, 2014. I would like to say that it was a disappointing article.

The prime lesson to be learnt from the tragedy, which should have been coming from the writer, is about the utter failure of our diplomatic arm to persuade and desist regional powers from providing safe havens and financial, as well as moral support to terrorist groups operating in Pakistan. Limiting the number of Indian consulates in close proximity to our border could be another task worth accomplishing by our diplomats.
