PESHAWAR: Law-enforcement agencies have hastened the hunt for the perpetrators of Army Public School attack and are conducting search operations in different areas of the city. Around 225 suspects were detained during an operation in Faqirabad on Monday. A large contingent of police officials participated in the crackdown and conducted a door-to-door search operation that started early morning. All the detainees were shifted to Faqirabad police station for further interrogation. A police official said those found to be innocent will be released once investigation is complete. The crackdown, however, drew the ire of locals who blamed the police for arresting innocent businessmen and not militants. Shehriyar, a local trader, told The Express Tribune he was en route to his shop early morning when the police arrested him and released him only when his family came looking for him.
