PESHAWAR:

A sub-national immunization and case response campaign is under way across the province.

According to health department officials, around 2,875,642 children will be administered polio drops in the ongoing campaign in around 20 districts across the province. They said some districts will be partially covered and then completed in a follow-up campaign.

“8,103 mobile teams, including 748 fixed and 412 transmit teams, will take part in the drive,” said a health official, adding a total of 1,836 persons have been designated as area incharges.

Strict security measures have been adopted and a number of motorcycles were also impounded by the police.
