KHAR:

Three FC officials died in a roadside IED attack in Bajaur Agency on Thursday.

TTP spokesperson Muhammad Khurasani has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Political administration officials in Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, said that on Thursday evening three FC officials were on routine patrol in Chinagai Damadola area of Mamond tehsil when an IED planted along the road went off. The explosion killed Hanif Khan, Awal Khan, and Gul Saeed.

The security forces have cordoned off the area and started a search operation.

On the other side of the Durand Line, the Afghan forces too have launched a search and strike operation against TTP militants in Dangam district of Kunar which borders with Bajaur Agency.

Bajaur Agency has recently witnessed recurrent IED attacks on paramilitary forces and pro-government peace militia leaders.

Last month three Levies officials were killed and two other officials wounded when an IED planted by the roadside blew up in Bajaur.
