Neglected yet bright: Baloch students assured of quality education

PM Nawaz says Balochistan’s progress a priority

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that his government was committed to the development of Balochistan with a resolve to bring it at par with the other developed areas of the country.

He said this while talking to a group of students from Loralai at the PM House, according to an official handout.

The prime minister maintained that over the years Balochistan was neglected, however, it was not only rich in natural resources but also had an equally talented youth.



Highlighting the vital role of youth in building the country, Premier Nawaz affirmed the nation was proud of its young generation that would help Pakistan get its rightful place in the comity of nations with honour and dignity.

The prime minister also listened to a number of suggestions put forth by the students for creating a conducive environment for learning education at the Loralai School.

PM Nawaz announced Rs15 million for the school and to meet its immediate needs. He assured that he would announce more funds for the students when he visits Balochistan. He also asked the school authorities to provide scholarships to outstanding students.

He directed Senator Sardar Yaqoob Nasir to find out the problems of the school and submit a report to him for implementation. Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid was also present during the meeting.

Air chief meets PM Nawaz

Chief of the Air staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt called on PM Nawaz Sharif at the PM House on Wednesday.

Professional matters relating to PAF came under discussion during the meeting.  Nawaz appreciated the role of PAF in the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan Agency. Air chief presented a cheque of Rs32 million to the PM for IDPs.
