MANSEHRA:

A man committed suicide following a dispute with his parents in the urban limits of Mansehra, police and eyewitnesses told The Express Tribune on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses spotted the man on Karakoram Highway on Friday evening when he shot himself on the temple. He was taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.

The police subsequently conducted a search and found a six-page suicide note. Through the letter, they were able to identify the deceased as Haroon and determine the reason behind his suicide.

According to the letter, Haroon and his wife lived with his parents in Mohallah Dharmiyan. He took the drastic step because his parents had asked the couple to move into a separate house after his wife had developed differences with them.

Haroon could not afford to support his family on a meagre income and repeatedly tried to persuade his parents to change their decision. However, they had refused to listen to him.
