Woman carrying explosives into Islamabad arrested

Islamabad police seized 130 kilograms of explosive material at IJ Principal Road, vehicle coming from Peshawar.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police seized 130 kilograms of explosive material at IJ Principal Road on Sunday night.

Express 24/7 correspondernt Sohail Chaudhry reported that the explosives were being carried into Islamabad from Peshawar on a Toyota HiAce vehicle bearing the number plate C-1784.

Islamabad police have arrested a woman named Amtri Bibi, who was allegedly carrying the explosives into the capital. She has been shifted to the women's police station for questioning.

A case has also been registered in Islamabad under section 5/6 Explosives Act.

Security in the capital has been increased after a terrorist attack in Pakpattan at the Baba Farid shrine in October this year.

Pakistan One | 13 years ago | Reply She is just made a scape goat. I saw on another TV channel that she was being victimised by police and they are accusing her of different crimes and then back tracking from it. Being poor is now a crime.

Just reading the many posting its laughable.One poster is glad that the check post are so well maintained with corrupt officials that look the other way while innocent people are killed. Instead of making light of these tragic situations where is the common anger that your country Pakistan has been hijacked by extremist while you all wonder if the woman is a driver or a passenger if she is driving a Toyota or some other make or this is a fake story. The people of Pakistan are looking like a bunch of sissies who have given up the good fight; where I ask is the OUTRAGE? Where are the civilian militia that make citizen arrest and remove the scum that stroll the streets with a new founded vigor because they can afford to bully, intimidate and kill. So why we pat our ISL police on the rump; the world is looking at Pakistan with suspicion and foreign companies will refuse to invest in different industries and the hundreds of graduates from college & universities around the country have a dim future and the jobs go to India and China while they suck in the rupees and The Renminbi into their banks

I went to Pak after 5 years some times back ... and saw all those check posts every where.. was so impressed that only our police has such sophisticated torch lights ... by using them they don't need to stop a single car in fact ... they just wave them at your car and that's it ... Pak need to export such amazing technology.

Islamabad Police has now Adopted a New Trend About Fake Encounters and Arrests This is the same Case which Happend i think3 months Back when a Women was Arrested on Chck Post Coming from Peshawar. She is coming from KP & had explosives in her custody, Mr. Khan. I hope this lady is thoroughly investigated by (if not the police) the media - where is she from - who gave her the explosives - what was the target - who are her partners in crime - who is the kingpin - who makes the explosives etc etc. Enough of the 'where are we going as a society' articles - lets have some investigative journalism laden only with facts.
